Got Woodpecker Problems?
How to Get Rid of Woodpeckers
The Woodpecker PRO was designed exclusively to repel woodpeckers, and works especially well when combined with attaching Irri-Tape directly on areas the birds are pecking. The BirdXPeller PRO and Super BirdXPeller (for larger areas) also contain settings for repelling woodpeckers. Treating surfaces with a sticky bird repellent liquid is another option for repelling woodpeckers.
About woodpeckers
Woodpeckers peck to claim territory. The fast, machine-gun pecking (known as drilling) is the male woodpecker’s way of attracting a mate as well as intimidating any nearby competing male woodpeckers. One way to deter woodpeckers from your property is by hanging strips of Irri-tape iridescent foil bird tape (recommended by the National Audubon Society).
Woodpeckers peck to find food. Once they have created a hole, they are able to extract insects and grubs from deep within using their long, sticky tongues. Woodpeckers peck to build a nest. The may find wood siding and even stucco to be an attractive site for a nest or roost hole. If a woodpecker seems to be making a round hole large enough for it to enter, you may want to block access with bird netting.
