Product Selection

Bird-X offers four different ultrasonic bird deterrent devices designed for a variety of applications and coverage areas:

  • Our Balcony Guard is an ultrasonic bird deterrent designed for for small areas and home use. It is intended to help discourage pigeons, crows, seagulls, blackbirds, and bats from treated areas. It can be powered by batteries or an AC outlet and features adjustable operation with continuous or motion-activated settings.
  • For larger enclosed spaces, our Quadblaster can cover an area up to 6500 square feet. You can also add an optional strobe light accessory is available to add a visual bird deterrent component.
  • For medium-sized semi-enclosed or outdoor areas, the Ultrason X provides up to 3600 square feet of coverage. It is also the only ultrasonic product in our lineup that can be solar powered when paired with one of our large solar panels.
  • For the largest outdoor areas, Broadband Pro combines ultrasonic and sonic sound output, including predator calls, to help discourage pest birds from treated areas and provides coverage for areas up to approximately 6 acres.

Where should you use Ultrasonic Bird Deterrents?

Ultrasonic bird repellers are well suited for areas where quiet is important. Ultrasonic sound frequencies don’t travel well through solid objects, so the speakers should have a clear line of sight to the intended treatment area. This also means that ultrasonic deterrents are generally best suited for enclosed and semi-enclosed areas. In enclosed spaces, the ultrasonic sound waves may reflect off walls and ceilings, helping distribute sound throughout the treatment area. When an ultrasonic device is used outdoors or in large open areas, the sound may travel shorter distances, which can reduce the size of the treatment area.

Tips for Success

  • Variation is key: Regularly change the output, duration, and/or location of the ultrasonic device to help reduce bird acclimation and support consistent operation.
  • Install Early: Try to install your device before “bird season” arrives. Early installation may help discourage birds from establishing regular activity in the treatment area.
  • Use products together: Using multiple bird control methods together as part of an integrated bird management program may provide better overall results than using a single method alone. For example, combining an ultrasonic device with bird spikes can provide both audible and physical deterrence.
  • Keep the area clean: Birds and other pests are attracted to areas with food or existing bird activity. Removing food sources and trash can help make an area less attractive to pest birds. Cleaning up bird droppings and other signs of bird activity may also support an overall bird management program. When cleaning bird droppings, always follow appropriate safety procedures and wear recommended personal protective equipment (PPE), as bird droppings may contain harmful bacteria, fungi, or parasites.
