CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

Mission Statement

We continuously strive for excellence in product innovation, customer satisfaction and environmental responsibility in order to provide our worldwide customers the products they need to improve the environment in which they live.

Our Story

Bird-X began on January 17, 1964, with a simple idea inspired by the Bird Lite, a product offered for bird management in commercial areas. Founder Richard Seid started the company with a small lineup: the Bird Lite, a chemical bird repellent and an ultrasonic bird repeller. Those early products laid the foundation for Bird-X.

At first, Richard ran the business on his own, handling everything from company leadership to shipping and customer calls. As Bird-X grew, the team expanded to support production, sales, administration, bookkeeping and promotion.
For its first 28 years, Bird-X reached customers through advertisements in trade publications and sold directly to end users. In 1992, Richard’s son, Joe Seid, joined as the company’s 10th employee and helped expand its sales channels, ushering in a period of growth.

Today, Bird-X supplies more than 400 bird management products to customers in over 60 countries. Our experienced team brings decades of knowledge to the work: one in five team members has been with the company for more than 25 years. From our Chicago beginnings to the customers we serve around the world, we’re proud to help people explore options for managing bird activity.

Research and Product Development

We maintain an exceptionally strong commitment to new product development – putting the latest scientific discoveries, decades of innovative thinking, patented designs and state-of-the-art technology into each of our products.

After years of research and testing, we know that pest birds and other animals can be conditioned – using their most basic fears and survival instincts – to stay away from areas where a threat is perceived. Many of our solutions mimic that threat, while others create a physical barrier or an unfit habitat. From electronic devices, ultrasonic technology, bird spikes and netting, to organic compounds, visual scares, and more – each product repels pests naturally, providing long-term results.

A Thoughtful Approach to Bird Management

For more than six decades, Bird-X has offered a range of non-lethal bird management tools. Depending on the product and site, these tools introduce auditory, visual or other stimuli to create an environment many birds find unwelcome and encourage them to move elsewhere. Our portfolio gives professionals and property owners options to consider when addressing bird activity in specific areas.
